The Count Basie Orchestra began in 1935 and is still playing engagements. 84 years and counting for this ghost band.

The Miracles became Smokety Robinson and The Miracles then went back to being the plain old Miracles when Smokey went solo.

Sonofsmegma warned for failing to cultivate empathy.

Crazy Horse have carried on without Danny Whitten since 1972 both as Neil Young's backing band and as an entity in their own right.

Charlie Feathers began performing and then recording for Sun in the mid 1950s. His son Bubba(real name) joined the band as lead guitarist in 1987. The band continues today - they will play in Memphis on the 10th - as the Bubba Feathers Band. (The drummer is also named Bubba.) Charlie has had a lasting influence on both rockabilly and psychobilly.

Rather like the Miracles, Anthony Gourdine joined the Imperials in 1957, left in 1960 to pursue a solo career, then rejoined in 1963 when they became Little Anthony and the Imperials and had all the classic hits. Gourdine left again in the 70s before re-joining in the 90s. The group are still touring today.

Good one

The Penguins started in 1953 and their lead singer, Cleve Duncan, kept the group together and working until he passed away in 2012.

The Valentinos survived the loss of both Bobby and Cecil Womack but called it a day when Harry Womack took a bullet from his missus.

:D

I didn't know how the Valentinos - the Womack brothers - came to an end. Thanks

The Stanley Brothers last from 1946 til Ralph's passing in 2016. (Carter died years before.) Ralph insisted on being introduced as Doctor Ralph Stanley because of his honorary degree. :wtf:
