Dan Stuart and Sid Griffin with Tom Leymann at the Hen & Chicken Bristol last night.
Peter de Meat Eater wasn't there but hopefully I'll catch up with him at the cricket this year. This was a continuous acoustic show which started out with all three followed by a solo set from Tom, ending with his version of Vigilante Man on slide. Like the other two, he's a great raconteur. After that we had Sid Griffin for half an hour accompanying himself on Mandolin and guitar. Tom then played with Dan Stuart during a number of his more recent solo songs. He was a boy the last time I saw him but now he's older but no wiser which is the way it should be. It was good to hear what he's been doing for the last 25 years. Finally all three of them played Green On Red unplugged including an unhinged Zombie For Love and Hair Of The Dog. Dan said he wasn't a fan of the band but he sure looked happy playing the songs. Catch them if you can, they're great.
