Nicholas Parson's death reminded me of Clement Freud. I'm fond of Clement Freud, but for me he actually spent too much of JAM just doing his listing thing. That said, I saw him do an after dinner speech in about 1990 where he was unfailingly hilarious and told one of the funniest jokes I've ever heard, this one:

A lot of bru-ha-ha over 40 year old Caroline Flack being thrown about by the gutter press. I didn't know her apart from her Love Island job, but when those tabloids stick the boot in, it's not nice.

Oh and my daughter is on the stage, it's how she makes her living, she loves it and I'm very proud of her. Here she is in a little known Irish sit-com...
