Alex Weston-Noond of The Quietus has paid me handsomely to use most of my comments on IAKO that I wrote for my lyrics site, for a review of his own.

I hope some clever cunt doesn't come along whinging about plagiarism, thus threatening to spoil the deal.

Well my post here http://thefallen.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31191#p31191 has been stolen wholesale in your comments for Spectre v Rector:

A simple note of acknowledgement and thanks would have been so easy.

I wrote to the editor of The Quietus complaining that he'd used far more material than he'd paid for and he wrote back saying that since I'd quoted the entire Fall's lyrics without acknowledging copyright or seeking permission I could fuck off. :duh:

Plagiarism is plagiarism. It is a form of theft.and for a writer is one of the worst 'crimes' you can be accused of. In this case it looks totally knowing and blatant and he should be ashamed, but given the fact it was done at all, I very much doubt he cares. He should be called out.

Bloody disgusting, he should execute all of his staff and then commit ritual suicide on national television.

Yeah, I like the Quietus, but a ritual beheading of every writer, staff member and toilet cleaner employed there, in front of their families, is the only rational solution.

Maybe i was a bit hasty and that's too extreme. The article writer is only young and being sacked and labelled a plagiarist for the rest of his life may well be enough to atone for this one mistake.

Hmm, perhaps you're right. I remember when MES was young and had the sleeve for 'Lie Dream' designed to depict the Wigan Casino Club using the very same font as the real thing - no one forgave him for that and his career was in ruins.

I'll try and keep this short. :wtf:

Two weeks ago I went for an eye test, knowing my left eye had a cataract. Specsavers optician confirmed this but said I was ok to drive a bus. Plans set up for hospital treatment, possible 12 week wait. Yesterday they decided to do eye tests at work, I failed obvs but provided the optician report. This didn't say I could drive. Suspended, so rushed to opticians to get written notice of my eyes being ok to drive. The cunt refused as he thought I meant a car not a bus. Had to report this to DVLA who duly stopped my PSV licence. I researched the DVLA laws on this and found my optician was possibly wrong, as the figures I'd got were well within the criteria needed. Decided on a second opinion, so visited an independent optician. He confirmed my eyes were fine for driving a bus, and gave me written confirmation. I thought that would be it, and work is fine with it, but DVLA aren't. They will be sending me a questionaire to fill out as originally advised, but they said if I enclosed my latest optician report, they would look into it. DVLA say becuase I contacted them, the original optician's diagnosis cannot now be ignored. So where I hoped I'd be back at work by next rota'd day (Wednesday), it could well be a few weeks on sick pay which is shit.

Please no smart arse replies, it's a serious matter and I'm highly pissed off. :(
