The name of the town is Dildo and there's a town of South Dildo too. The headland that stands where the harbour opens is called Dildo Head. It's a beautiful area.

If you notice the "rock" formation directly above and slightly to the left of the now-vanished monolith, which is of a slightly different color and has two dark spots (eyes?), well that's gone also.

...and the reason they took it away is that is clashed with the San Juan county Feng Shui. It would be wrong to say San Juan county is crowded because there are less than 2 people per square mile, but still that doesn't mean beings can dump their "art" willy-nilly about the countryside.

San Juan County is one of the few counties in the USA where native Americans are the majority ethnic group and they are more sensitive, in general, to disruptions in the local biosphere than others and perhaps they used their influence to have the "visitors" find another site for the monolith.

A tequila bar in Nottingham has plans to get around tier 3 by registering itself as the Church of 400 Rabbits and claiming it is a place of worship.

I wonder if The Church of BOQ is doing anything similar?

BOQ does not have established church buildings as such but takes advantage of the natural surroundings, parks, seashores, parking lots, etc for services. A lot of substances are consumed at service but little in the way of alcoholic beverages although no anathema has been placed on it and drinking is neither encouraged nor discouraged. Alcohol is mainly considered a foodstuff, especially among our members from rural areas.
Not speaking for Arch Bishop Mick Trotsky, but merely noting, BOQ places little or no emphasis on interacting with authorities and church teaching is, to borrow a phrase from everyday life, "If the cop didn't see me then I didn't do it."
