There is a village in Worcestershire called Powick, not especially silly or over the top, but you can imagine the sort of cunt who'd live there.Potty, Jan 9 2018, 03:33:26 PM wrote:Quote:, Â wrote:Stephen Young, of Minge Lane, in Worcester - also voted one of the rudest-sounding street names - said the petition was "a bit silly" and "over the top".

Minge Lane is actually in Upton Upon Severn a town 10 miles from Worcester and 9 miles from Powick. It used to be a port, as well as being the only river crossing for many miles. For centuries before modern transport, it was alive with river craft carrying goods from and to the rich agricultural areas around it. Today, pleasure craft have taken over. There is a flourishing marina on the east bank, and Upton’s historic prosperity can be seen in it’s variety of old buildings, including pleasant places to eat and drink.Potty, Jan 9 2018, 03:33:26 PM wrote:Quote:,  wrote:Stephen Young, of Minge Lane, in Worcester - also voted one of the rudest-sounding street names - said the petition was "a bit silly" and "over the top".

Upton is a town with a liveliness out of all proportion to its size. Its attractive shops, its inns and a variety of events each year, such as the Jazz, Folk, Blues and Water Festivals draw crowds in their thousands.
