A print of this

i have a story about another picture of Sandie Shaw which prompted me to buy this, apart from the obvious The Smiths connection.
(I have a story or stories about all the pictures framed on my walls. You must come and visit. Allow yourself at least several hours for the full experience. Free beer served all day of course; I don't pay for it. )

I was in Amsterdam on a short break and decided to visit the Stedelijk Museum. (Locally know as 'the bathtub' and easier to pronounce, for us anyway.)

In there I came across a b/w photograph by David Bailey entitled 'London Girl'. I looked at it closely and then thought 'That is not just a London girl, that is Sandie Shaw!'
Pondering this inadequate description over the next few hours I got it into my head that I must fully inform the visitors to the museum so I went to a shop and returned, armed with a felt tip pen and added 'Sandie Shaw' under the title. Security swooped in seconds and I was taken to a small room and detained. Then the curator of the museum (a slim fit woman) entered and was very agitated. 'You cannot come here and deface our pictures' in a Dutch accent, which was quite sexy.
I explained that I had not defaced the picture (which I would never do) but I was adding extra information for the general public who would actually be grateful and I suggested she leaves it altered as it is, and it was probably art in itself.
I was escorted from the premises, feeling a little hard done to because I had acted in good faith and actually added to the museum experience for others.

So that Sandie Shaw picture I just bought will always remind me of that exciting incident in Amsterdam when I performed a public duty in the name of art risking incarceration and/or deportatation.:)

Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead.

No.

Dad's :wanker: got one of those. And a Smeg fridge.

One of the few times he's been right - about both. :wtf:

The coffee's excellent in the morning - and at night, perks me up before ranting at Routemaster.

The beer he sometimes leaves in the fridge and doesn't notice me nick is even better. :)

Wishing there was a cliff in Teesside...then I'd go up there and push Routemaster :wanker: off! :grrr:
