When I was in Newfoundland, I ate cod tongues. It was on the menu and I ordered, ate, and liked it. They were fried.

There must have been a lot of cod tongues to make a meal? :wtf:

It was the tongue plus the adjacent meaty part of the cheek...it took quite a few

Newfoundland is the West Virginia of Canada, especially since the cod fishery collapsed.

I'm sure some cultures enjoy a fish-head soup, it doesn't appeal to me but sounds more desirable than the Newfoundland delicacy.

To be frank, it was kind of tasteless and bland (which suited me) and I was pleased by that because I'm a finicky eater. The view was just west of where the St Lawrence River meets the Atlantic and the Greenland current keeps the area chilly and damp all summer.

Mmmm, fish soup. The classic French Bouillabaisse is a thing of great wonder best eaten on the Mediterranean somewhere like Marseille.

Skate and chips was a cheap dish in chip shops until the seventies. There's nothing arty about it at all and it such a shame that you hardly see it here now.

I'm sure that soup is delicious, but I don't trust shellfish since a dodgy paella in Majorca many years ago which ruined three days of our week there. :X

Eating in a restaurant these days is playing gastric roulette. In the USA, people have died from eating cantaloupe, romaine lettuce, and other uncooked fruit and vegetables.

The photo of the fish & chips dinner: that's safe, at least in the short term.

As you place your order and the wait person says "thank you" add the request to "Nuke it."

Enjoying some beans on toast while listening to the Cocteau Twins.

I'm making a right mess as I'm still pissed after a couple of cans of McEwan's last night. Fucking proddy brew. :grrr:

I stuffed a burrito but it gave me the shits this morning.

So I stuffed Mrs Juicy instead and that was much better.

Just thought you would want to know. :)
