The White Room - KLF

Gonna listen to that right now, Charlie I have not yet experienced. So much to discover, so much laziness. :)

White Room - Cream

One of the best things I ever did was to work through Charlie Christian's solos and learn them from a book I bought. Charlie Christian > T-Bone Walker > Chuck Berry :)

I didn't do so hot trying to learn Jellyroll Morton on guitar or Django either; wish I had those months back :(

CC sounds simple but he's learnable because of his inherent logic

Yes the river knows - The Doors

That’s an interesting idea, working through that. CC was kind of the father of lead guitar I think?

Jelly Roll was great, don’t see how he could be worked into a guitar context, rhythmically anyway. I’ve heard bits of the library of Congress recordings, man they’re filthy.

I Know - Barbara George

CC was the first really good electric guitar player but playing solo in a jazz context would be Eddie Lang as the first and then Django a few years later.

Morton made a lot of solo records and i had a book transcribing some - I tried to learn the lead and throw in some of the chords but it was never satisfactory - too hard for me.

You know more than I know - John Cale

Trying to catch that piano rhythm would seem a hopeless task.

Now I feel like digging out my Jelly Roll CD but I’m not at home. :(
