Best phoenix group ; Who be it?

With our heroes hitting the road again without MES, who is the best group to overcome the hurdle of losing their iconic lead singer?

It's got to be the Tremeloes for me. They even started a dynasty with Chesney Hawkes. :)

The Trems make me feel slightly better when I'm really down.

Shouldn't New Order be in this poll? Shoddy.

The Drifters had Top Ten hits with Clyde McPhatter as lead singer.
Clyde left and had a successful solo career and Ben E King took over as lead singer.
With King as lead, the Drifters had several Top Ten hits.
King left for a successful solo career and Rudy Lewis became lead singer.
With Lewis as lead, the group had 2 or 3 Top Ten hits.
Lewis died, another singer took over the lead, and the group had more hits.

Similarly the Temptations had all their early hits with David Ruffin singing lead, then after he left Dennis Edwards took over for the Norman Whitfield produced stuff. Then a lot of them died but they still carried on having the occasional hit.

Similarly, Bobby Lester started as the Moonglows lead and he was replaced by Harvey Fuqua without missing a beat - with some vocal groups the name is more important than the singer.

The Crickets: After Buddy Holly became unavailable, The Crickets soldiered on until 2016.

The Supremes made some great records when they reverted to being called the Supremes post Diana Ross.

Bill Haley & The Comets hit the national charts in 1953. As of 2017, the Comets were still playing dates with Bill long gone. The bass player was an original Comet.

I have a Wailers album, maybe their first?, that I got from Jamaica. It's really good and doesn't sound like Bob Marley & The Wailers, which, of course, was really good. I can see the Marley-less Wailers having a successful career.

The Pirates were a working band well into the eighties after Johnny Kidd died.
